Re: Beer
In Response To: Re: Beer ()

Beer was definitely a delicacy item and there were many. Hamms - from the land of sky blue waters with some dumb bear running around. Falstaff - which was the beer pitched by Dizzy Dean on the Saturday Game of the Week. Grain Belt Premium - which was advertised by Stanley and Albert. Of course, Schlitz was the brew that made Milwaukee famous. Bud has always been the "King" of beers and one of Tom's favorites I might add. Mabel had the Black Label. White Label was really ugly and usually just a little gritty toward the bottom of the can. Oly was popular for a while, but only if you didn't live
in WA. Coors was impossible to get because they wanted it to only be a regional brew with no preservatives, but then someone took them to court, and the rest is history. I also remember of couple of wines that were real popular, Lancers and another in a dark oval kind of bottle. I may not indulge today, but I have had my share and probably several other people's shares too.
