Thanks Paul. But I disagree. I did not earn it, they did. John Moberly, and the CE and gunner on Gator 524 earned a lot of respect and awards. For several reasons. One is; day after day they flew, and got shot at and had shitty weather trying to kill them. And on several occasions, (at least 1 or 2 times a week) they all had to put up with me at the controls. Including flights across the border. Once John and I waited till the weather got so bad we could barely see the aircraft to make a flight with a spook to the old french fort west of Dak To. But on That day in September 1967, the day we rescued the bird dog crew, they earned their pay. And their medals.!
And we need to see that they get them.
