Re: Flight pay
In Response To: Re: Flight pay ()

E-4 and below was $55.00 per month. E-5 it went to $70.00 a month. Above E-5 I have no clue. If I can remember I think we had to fly 10 hours per month to get it. The pilot's flight pay depended on rank. There again I don't have a clue but I would guess it was more then our $70.00. They had also had to get so many hours to qualify. I also remember something about them not flying over 150 hours a month. I remember Stoney(Lt. Burke) got grounded during our time in the Plei-Trap because he had flown to many hours. It didn't matter about us unless you complained and they would give you the day off. Of course then you might get grabbed for some bull-shit detail like burning weed out of the perimeter wire or get stuck with tower guard or some other thing. By the time I got to the Crocs I was an E-5 over two years so that was $336.00 a month. Flight pay was $70.00. Combat pay was $65.00 and overseas pay was I think $13.00. So total it up and I was worth about $484.00 a month. Big Bucks!!!
