The only damn time I ever liked VN was when I was above 1500 AGL. But the beach east of English was just incredible; and I always did like the jungles and the rough country up around the Laos-Cambodia-SVN region. Made it to Cheo Reo and Ban Me Thuot a couple of times; and thought they were only so-so, and best viewed from above --- way above. The strongest memory I have of VN is the smell. Probably one good reason why I still don't like the damn place.
